Founder and Executive Director
Felicia is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organization, ensuring that resources are utilized to the consistent achievement of Brighter Tanzania's mission. Felicia also works closely with Grace, overseeing expenditures and progress in the school. A resident of Wisconsin, she holds a bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Michelle is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing and fundraising strategies which are both cost-effective and time-efficient. This includes overseeing fundraising and implementing new fundraising strategies. Michelle has recently returned to her home state of Wisconsin after over a decade on the West Coast. She holds a Bachelors degree from Northern Michigan University. In her free time, she reads, runs (slowly!), and plays epic games of hide & seek with her two sons.
Grace Silas Laizer
Founder and Director of Instructional Services
Grace is a native of Arusha, Tanzania. She has been teaching since 2008, working primarily with students in grade 1 at Arusha Integrated School, where she met Felicia and Nicole. Grace is responsible for the development of short and long term plans for the school, and currently serves as a community outreach liason to recruit students for the school. Grace also has the sole responsibility for the day-to-day functioning of the school itself, as well as being one of only two teachers.
